Sound & Video Technician (m/f/d) for the "Münchner Volkstheater"

The Münchner Volkstheater is one of the leading spoken theaters in Munich. In October 2021, the Münchner Volkstheater was reopened in the Schlachthofviertel. The theater has 3 stages. Christian Stückl has been artistic director since 2002. He opened up the theater and created a new profile with young directors and a young ensemble. The repertoire is supplemented by readings, concerts and panel discussions. The "Radikal jung" festival for young directors has been held annually since 2005. With "Radikal jung", the Münchner Volkstheater presents successful productions by up-and-coming directors. The festival promotes young talents who have distinguished themselves with their work in the German and European theater landscape.

The Münchner Volkstheater GmbH is looking for a full-time (39 hours/week) sound & video technician (m/f/d) as soon as possible. 

Your tasks: 

• Project-related support of theater productions (rehearsals and performances) in the field of audio & Video

• Setting up projectors, controlling media servers, playing video content and live images

• Setting up, dismantling and operating audio mixing consoles and sound systems

• Creating content, recording and post-production in the field of audio and video

• Planning and designing corresponding innovative technical solutions, Co-designing artistic processes and implementing the wishes of the production team

• Dialogue with the artistic production teams, especially in the function as an interface between art and technology

• Preparation and realization of guest performances

• Maintenance, repair and care of video, audio and network technology

Your profile:

• Completed training as an event technician with a focus on media technology, a degree in media or event technology or similar artistic-technical training 

• With appropriate professional experience in the field of media technology, career changers are also possible 

• Knowledge of recording and playback software Audio: Ableton Live, Nuendo, Qlab Video: Pandoras Box, DaVinci Resolve

• Independent and careful way of working, team spirit, communication skills, reliability, quick comprehension, sense of responsibility and ability to work under pressure

• Willingness to work flexible hours (evening shifts, Work on Sundays and public holidays)

• Willingness and ability to lift and carry heavy loads and to work on fixed and free-standing high ladders above lifting platforms

• Good network and PC skills, proficiency in common Office programs 

• Driver's license class B and willingness to drive the theater's own vehicles

• Foreign language skills: English (confident in spoken and written)
