Job description
The Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin is one of Berlin's state-run ensemble theaters. It is characterized by a history of political and artistic upheavals. Built as a concert hall for the Berlin Singakademie, it was reopened as a spoken theater in 1952 and has continued to provide decisive artistic impetus ever since. Located between Humboldt University and Museum Island, the theater is a place of transdisciplinary exchange and political debate with artistic means across genre boundaries. From the 2026/27 season, the Maxim Gorki Theater will be realigned as a house of arts, contradictions and new departures under the direction of Çağla Ilk.
We are looking for a new event technician in the field of lighting.
Your tasks:
Lighting set-up, installation and supervision of rehearsals and performances in the theater and at guest performances
Production of lighting props as well as the production of production-specific installations in the electrical area
Technical operation, supervision, maintenance, repair and safety-related testing of the in-house lighting equipment, the lighting-related electrical systems and the safety lighting
Contract details:
The contractual relationship is based on the TV-L
Pay group 6, plus. Theater operating allowance, capital city allowance, hardship allowance
Germany ticket job, parking facilities, staff canteen
Fixed-term for two seasons - temporary additional staff requirements
Full-time, part-time is possible by arrangement

Role / Requirements profile
Your profile:
Ideally successfully completed vocational training as a "specialist for event technology" or many years of experience as a lighting technician
Knowledge of electrical engineering and electronics in the field of lighting technology
Application and sound judgment in dealing with safety regulations, DIN regulations and accident prevention regulations
High level of commitment, Reliability, independence, flexibility, resilience and team spirit
Experience in the operational processes of a theater
Willingness to work at normal theater hours (rotating shifts, weekend and holiday shifts, touring)
Good knowledge of English
