Job description
The Schlosstheater Celle, a theater with approximately 130 employees, is seeking to fill the position of Stage Manager (m/f/d) on a full-time, temporary basis to cover a sick leave absence through December 31, 2026.
The Schlosstheater Celle operates the Schlosstheater, the Studio Stages, and HALLE 19. With approximately 25 theatrical productions per season, the program offers something for every age group. In addition, there is the program of the JUNGES SCHLOSSTHEATER, which also includes collaborations with schools and club activities. The Stage Manager is primarily responsible for organizing rehearsals and performances and ensuring that everything runs smoothly, particularly on the stage of the Schlosstheater.
Your responsibilities include:
The organizational and technical management of performances and stage rehearsals, particularly coordinating between the artistic and technical teams—that is, between the directing teams, performers, and stage/technical staff
Setting up movable elements such as props, costumes, etc., on stage
Managing the flow of a performance for cast members & audience
Operating the relevant equipment
Documenting and recording the procedures
For pre-production support: creating rehearsal schedules and coordinating the necessary requirements for sound, props, and furniture during rehearsals.
Supervising rehearsals may be added depending on the requirements and availability.
Stand-in for props
Employment terms and compensation are based on suitability and inclination, in accordance with the provisions of the NV Bühne Solo or the TVöD collective bargaining agreements.

Requirements:
Reliability, organizational and communication skills
Artistic sensitivity
Technical understanding of stage operations
Willingness to work irregular hours typical of the theater industry, including evenings and weekends, is a prerequisite.
Stage manager is not a trade requiring formal training and is suitable for career changers. Experience with theater operations is an advantage.
