Job description
We are a theater and are looking for a freelancer for press and public relations as well as sponsorship & marketing for a flexible, project-based collaboration.
We would like to promote our events, productions, and our theater more effectively and strategically to the outside world, and are looking for someone who enjoys raising the profile of theater, telling stories, and establishing and maintaining relationships with the media and the public.
The collaboration will be flexible and on a fee basis. The specific scope may vary depending on the project, production, and season.
Your potential responsibilities
Depending on needs and your areas of expertise, your responsibilities may include, among other things:
Press and media relations
Drafting and distributing press releases
Preparing information on productions, events, and projects
Contacting and communicating with journalists and regional media
Establishing and maintaining media contacts
Arranging interviews and press briefings
Handling press inquiries
Supporting individual productions and events through press relations
Public relations
Developing ideas on how to effectively promote individual productions and events to the public
Developing communication strategies and small-scale campaigns
Reaching out to relevant regional and cultural networks
Supporting the communication of special projects, premieres, and events
Marketing & Social Media
Development and implementation of marketing measures for individual productions
Support in planning our communication channels
Development of content ideas for Instagram, Facebook, and other channels as needed
Writing social media posts and short promotional copy
Coordinating or briefing on graphics, photo, or video
Assisting with the promotion of events and advance ticket sales campaigns
Sponsorship, Partnerships & networks
Another important area is the establishment and maintenance of sponsorship and collaboration partnerships.
Depending on the project and needs, this may include, for example:
Researching and identifying potential sponsors and collaboration partners
Developing and approaching suitable companies and institutions
Drafting sponsorship and collaboration proposals
Establishing personal contact and communicating with potential partners
Developing ideas for attractive benefits and partnership models
Maintaining existing sponsorship and partnership relationships
Managing and further developing our partner network
Developing collaborations with companies, cultural institutions, associations, and other regional stakeholders
Assisting in securing in-kind and media partnerships
If necessary, assisting with the research and acquisition of funding opportunities
What the collaboration entails
We are explicitly not looking for a traditional full-time position, but rather a freelance partner for individual tasks, productions, and projects.
The scope may therefore vary. Sometimes we need support with press relations for a premiere, sometimes with promoting an event or an entire season, and sometimes with social media or a small marketing campaign.
The individual projects are coordinated and compensated separately in each case. We’ll agree on the scope, timeframe, and fee together before each assignment.
If the collaboration works well for both sides, it may lead to regular assignments spanning multiple productions and seasons.
What We Offer
flexible collaboration on a fee basis
diverse projects in the cultural sector
direct collaboration with our theater
diverse tasks and topics instead of routine agency work
the possibility of a long-term collaboration if both parties are interested
agreement on scope and fee for each project
