Orchestra Manager/Music Archivist

Theater Freiburg is a multidisciplinary theater (musical theater, concerts, drama, youth theater, and dance) and is operated as a municipal enterprise.

Your Responsibilities

Our orchestra attendants are responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of the Freiburg Philharmonic Orchestra during symphony concerts, musical theater performances, various concert formats in the city of Freiburg and on tour.

Your future responsibilities will include, in particular:

  • Setting up, taking down, and transporting the orchestra’s furniture and instruments

  • Rearranging the orchestra during concerts and performances (including in front of an audience)

  • Transporting instruments within the venue and to the orchestra’s guest performances (including harpsichords and pianos on wheels)

  • Minor repairs

  • Depending on personal qualifications, assisting with the management and organization of sheet music

What you bring to the table:

  • A sense of responsibility, flexibility, a commitment to the job, and the ability to work well in a team

  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

  • An independent and proactive work style

  • Physical stamina, technical understanding, and manual dexterity

  • Class B driver’s license

  • A Class C1 driver’s license is desirable or can be supported

  • Knowledge of music and sheet music is desirable
