Job description

Are you passionate about opera, culture, and music? Do you enjoy communication and marketing, and do you want to play an active role in shaping the public image of Germany’s largest opera house? Then join us on the Marketing and Visitor Communications team at the Bavarian State Opera.

With around 600,000 guests annually and over 400 events, we play a key role in shaping Munich’s reputation as one of the world’s most renowned cultural cities. As a three-discipline institution, the Bavarian State Opera has its own orchestra—the Bavarian State Orchestra—as well as a ballet company, the Bavarian State Ballet.

The Bavarian State Opera is seeking as of October 1, 2026 employees for our opera shops.

Responsibilities:

  • Selling program booklets, merchandise, and publications of the Bavarian State Opera

  • Providing customer service in person and over the phone, Answering individual questions regarding attending performances

  • Selling tour tickets and processing payments for group tours

  • Inventory management and control for the opera shop
