Job description
For an 89-second TV and online commercial in the “vox pop” format, we’re looking for an actress to play the role of a passerby who is approached by a reporter in a Munich pedestrian zone. Annabelle is just coming from the doctor’s office when the host surprises her with a simple, everyday question—she isn’t quite sure of the answer and laughs sheepishly. Then a pharmacist joins them and shows her live on her own cell phone how it’s done. Annabelle is amazed, asks for more details, and is thrilled by the end. After the host and the pharmacist, she is the most important character in the spot—it’s through her that the viewer experiences the “aha” moment. The client is a German online pharmacy, and the ad promotes a digital service related to e-prescriptions.
APPLICATION
Please send us:
* 3–4 recent photos
* A short film or showreel—ideally featuring dialogue scenes or on-camera moments (no professional editing required; a cell phone video is sufficient as long as your personality comes through)
* A short video introduction answering the following questions
Answer casually and in your own words:
1. Who are you, and how did you get into acting in front of the camera?
Whether through formal training, by chance, or as a hobby—we’re interested in your journey.
2. Tell us about a moment when something in everyday life or with technology positively surprised you.
We want to see how naturally you tell a story and react.
3. Act out three short reactions for us: perplexed (“Hmm… no idea?”), surprised and delighted (“Oh, really?”), and laughing in disbelief (“That too?”).
Role / Requirements profile
THE ROLE
Annabelle is a perfectly ordinary woman, living her life to the fullest—not some tech-averse stereotype, but someone who simply didn’t know yet that things could be so easy. She’s taken aback by the question, laughs sheepishly, then listens attentively and is genuinely delighted by the “aha” moment. The role thrives above all on reactions: amazement, follow-up questions, genuine laughter. In total, the role of Annabelle has about 25 words of dialogue, spread across several short sentences and follow-up questions. It’s crucial that her reactions come across as spontaneous and natural even across many takes.
DESIRED CASTING PROFILE
* Age: approx. early 50s to 55
* Impression: warm, likable, open, with a natural sense of humor—the girl-next-door type you’d love to strike up a conversation with
* Appearance: attractive, well-groomed, down-to-earth look—modern and full of life
* Language: German as a native language, accent-free, no dialect
REQUIREMENTS
* Acting or on-camera experience, ideally with dialogue scenes
* Authentic, spontaneous performance—especially believable laughter and expressions of surprise
* Natural handling of a cell phone and health insurance card on camera
* Outdoor shoot in November: able to withstand the weather and handle the demands of a full day of filming
* Full transfer of rights for TV and online use in Germany (buyout)
