Job description
For an 89-second TV and online commercial in the “vox pop” format, we’re looking for an actress to play the role of a pharmacist who joins a street survey in a Munich pedestrian zone. A host asks passersby a simple everyday question—no one really knows the answer. Then Sarah joins in: She takes a passerby under her wing, shows her step by step on her cell phone how to do it, and answers her questions. Sarah has the largest speaking role in the spot (approx. 110 words of text; the longest passage consists of about 50 words in a row) and is the technical heart of the scene—competent, warm, and approachable. The client is a German online pharmacy, and the ad promotes a digital service related to e-prescriptions.
APPLICATION
Please send us:
* 3–4 recent photos
* A short film or showreel—ideally featuring dialogue scenes or on-camera moments (no professional editing required; a cell phone video is sufficient as long as your personality comes through)
* A short video introduction answering the following questions:
Answer casually and in your own words:
1. Who are you, and how did you get into acting? Whether through formal training, by chance, or via a YouTube channel—we’re interested in your journey.
2. Pick up your cell phone and explain to us in 30 seconds how something on it works (e.g., an app, a setting, or contactless payment)—as if you were showing it to someone who’s doing it for the first time. We want to see how you explain things while using your phone naturally.
3. Say this sentence twice—once calmly and clearly, and once spontaneously and casually: “May I give it a try? It’s really easy—I’ll just show you quickly.”
Role / Requirements profile
THE ROLE
Sarah explains without lecturing. She is patient, friendly, and exudes professional expertise—you immediately believe that she knows what she’s talking about. At the same time, she remains approachable and warm—more like the pharmacist you enjoy visiting than the expert in an ivory tower.
The role is dialogue-heavy: Sarah guides the passerby step by step through a process on her cell phone, speaking several sentences at a time. The dialogue and action (cell phone, map, eye contact with the passerby) must flow seamlessly together—even across multiple takes.
Pharmaceutical expertise is not required; the content will be briefed in advance.
DESIRED CASTING PROFILE
* Age: approx. late 30s to 45
* Presence: competent, warm, empathetic, trustworthy—professional without being stiff
* Appearance: attractive, very well-groomed, natural look; credible in a white lab coat; well-groomed hands (there will be close-ups of hands and a cell phone)
* Language: German as a native language, accent-free, no dialect.
REQUIREMENTS
* Acting or on-camera experience, ideally with dialogue scenes
* Very good command of the script—able to deliver longer passages freely, naturally, and without reading from the script
* Ability to convincingly perform the script and the action (using a cell phone, pointing things out) simultaneously
* Outdoor shoot in November: able to withstand the weather and handle a full day of shooting
* Full transfer of rights for TV and online use in Germany (buyout)
