Actors (m/f/d) to play “family members” in the short film “Gleich bei Ihnen”

For our bachelor’s thesis film “Right by Your Side,” we are looking for actors for various leading and supporting roles. The short film is a mockumentary that follows a day in a nursing home. The story is told through observed scenes of everyday life and interviews with the characters.

While the nursing home administration wants to present as positive an image as possible on camera, the caregivers and residents struggle with staff shortages, time pressures, and the small problems of everyday life at the home. The film combines dry humor with quieter and more serious moments.

A natural acting style is particularly important to us. The characters should not be played in an exaggerated way or like typical comedy roles, but should come across as real people. Experience in front of the camera is helpful, but not required for every role.

Family members visit a resident and bring a little bit of the outside world into the nursing home for a short time. These may include adult children, partners, grandchildren, or close friends. Some are familiar with daily life at the home, while others still seem a bit unsure or overwhelmed.

Some of the roles have little or no dialogue. What’s important are natural reactions and a believable, familiar interaction with the respective resident character. Even beginners in acting or people who already know each other can apply for these roles.
