Actor/Actress (m/f/d) as “additional caregiver” for the short film “Right at Your Doorstep”

For our bachelor’s thesis film “Right by Your Side,” we are looking for actors for various lead and supporting roles. The short film is a mockumentary that follows a day in a nursing home. The story is told through observed scenes of everyday life and interviews with the characters.

While the nursing home administration wants to present as positive an image as possible on camera, the caregivers and residents struggle with staff shortages, time pressures, and the small problems of everyday life at the home. The film combines dry humor with quieter and more serious moments.

A natural acting style is particularly important to us. The characters should not be played in an exaggerated way or like typical comedy roles, but should come across as real people. Experience in front of the camera is helpful, but not required for every role.

The other caregiver is a permanent member of the nursing home’s staff and assists with administering medication, mealtimes, and other daily tasks. Later, she also helps search for the missing resident. The role appears primarily in team and everyday scenes.

Depending on the casting, the character may be relatively new or may have been working at the nursing home for some time. We are looking for someone with a natural acting style who fits well into an ensemble and maintains a strong presence even in scenes where they have no lines. Minor quirks of the character can be developed collaboratively.
