Job description
The Staatstheater Kassel is seeking, effective June 1, 2027, or no later than the 2027/2028 season, a
Technical Director (m/f/d) for the “INTERIM” venue.

This modern theater complex—which hosts musical theater, concerts, drama, dance, and Just+—is equally committed to tradition and modernity—and attracts nationwide attention through its innovative programming and the quality of its ensembles and the State Orchestra.
Your Responsibilities:
Management of the stage technology departments at INTERIM
Artistic and technical planning and organization of new productions, revivals, guest performances, and special events
Reviewing and constructively implementing set design concepts, taking into account artistic requirements, technical feasibility, and suitability for the repertoire
Providing artistic and technical support for productions from the conceptual phase through to the premiere
Preparation of risk assessments
Contribution to the strategic development of technical equipment, production processes, and operational structures
Acting as deputy to the Technical Director at INTERIM

Certified Master of Event Technology (m/f/d) – Specializations in stage and lighting
Experience in instructing and leading teams, professional experience in the events industry (preferably at a theater), Interpersonal skills
Willingness to work evenings, Sundays, and holidays
