Assistant Director (m/f/d) for the “Vorarlberg State Theater”

We are seeking a dedicated Assistant Director (m/f/d)

for the Vorarlberg State Theater, starting in January 2027. Your responsibilities:

• Supervising, preparing for, and following up on rehearsals

• Maintaining the director’s log

• Creating and updating rehearsal schedules in close coordination with the director, the Artistic Administration Office, and the relevant departments

• Serving as the central point of contact between the directing team, the Artistic Administration Office, the ensemble, and the technical and artistic departments

• Occasionally taking over the prompter duties during rehearsals

• If necessary, managing evening performances

* Our company is not subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The minimum annual salary for this position is EUR 39,200.00. However, the actual salary is based on the Vorarlberg job market and depends on professional qualifications and experience.

Your Profile:

• Professional experience as an assistant director or in comparable theater-related roles

• Strong teamwork skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to handle stress

• Resilience and strong organizational skills

• High level of empathy and understanding of artistic processes

• Willingness to work flexible hours typical of the theater industry

• Solid knowledge of the German language
