Job description
1964: Achim is a civil engineering student from East Berlin who has been digging escape tunnels under the Wall for years. He is quiet and tenacious, a man who prefers to take action rather than talk. In the film, we see him at the end of his rope while building the tunnel: sweaty, filthy, moving like a machine. Until he suddenly finds himself face to face with the woman for whom he is doing all this—his great love, Christa.
Role / Requirements profile
We are looking for an actor who can convey a lot through their gaze and body language and who can portray exhaustion, tension, and overwhelming emotion in just a few quiet seconds.
The look should fit the early ’60s (we’ll take care of the haircut, shave, and costume).
Body type is open—a natural, working-class physique is preferred over a model-type build.
Gender
Male / Non-binary
Acting age
22 – 32 years
