Are you looking for management responsibility in the entertainment sector, international cooperation and maritime flair?

As Head of Entertainment Operations (f/m/d) at sea chefs - based in Berlin - you will assume overall responsibility for our entertainment department in Berlin and Cyprus. Together with your team, you will ensure the complete staffing of all entertainment positions on board the Mein Schiff and Hapag-Lloyd Cruises fleet and ensure the smooth running of entertainment operations - both on land and at sea.

Your areas of responsibility at a glance:

  • Overall responsibility for the entertainment department (21 employees) at the Berlin and Cyprus locations with the areas of casting, recruiting, scheduling, administration, operations and travel management. The team ensures the full staffing of all entertainment positions and the smooth operational entertainment process on board the Mein Schiff and Hapag-Lloyd Cruises fleet

  • In this position you will lead three central key roles in the entertainment area: the Cruise Director (f/m/d) on board, who is responsible for the overall management of the entertainment program, the Operations Manager Entertainment Services (f/m/d) with a focus on operational management on board and the Office Operations Manager Entertainment Services (f/m/d), responsible for the management and further development of the team ashore.

  • Strategic further development of the department in close coordination with the Head of Office Organization Berlin

  • Securing and continuous development of quality standards and processes on land and on board

  • Implementation and monitoring of internal standards, Guidelines and economically relevant processes

  • Collaborating closely with the entertainment divisions of TUI Cruises (Mein Schiff) and Hapag-Lloyd Cruises as well as central interface function to both customers and their fleets (13 ships)

  • Monitoring, Analysis and reporting as well as responsibility for budget planning and control in accordance with the specifications of the Head of Office Organization Berlin

  • Active participation in projects for innovation and digitization in the field of entertainment

Role/requirement profile

Your course & your talents
This is what you ideally bring to the table:

  • A degree in event management, business administration, cultural management or a comparable qualification

  • Multiple years of professional experience in a managerial position - ideally in the cruise, Entertainment or hospitality sector

  • Strong leadership skills and experience in developing and motivating international groups of employees

  • Strategic and entrepreneurial thinking as well as experience in budget and project responsibility

  • Organizational strength, a structured way of working and a high degree of personal responsibility

  • strong communication skills, negotiating skills and a confident manner - even in complex and challenging situations

  • high level of intercultural competence and enjoyment of international cooperation

  • based in Berlin and occasionally willing to travel, especially for visits on board

  • very good written and spoken German and English
