Director (m/f/d) for an interactive theater play

We are looking for an experienced director to help us assemble, rehearse and prepare an ensemble in Frankfurt am Main for upcoming performances of an immersive theater piece. Several performances are planned in Frankfurt and the region from February 2026 and we are looking for a long-term collaboration.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Ensemble related tasks:

• Casting the roles (5 main roles + 2 understudies)

• Managing all rehearsals and directing the actors:inside stage design/blocking

• Assisting the ensemble with text analysis and performance techniques

• Ensuring artistic coherence and coordination of the ensemble

• Supporting the Production team in the search for rehearsal spaces

• Supporting the production team in the search for new ensemble members in the event of cast changes

• Participating in the first "Open Gates" performances and giving feedback on creativePerformances and feedback on creative aspects

Production-related tasks:

• Review all materials for the performance and organize script distribution

• Coordinate the printing and management of scripts and other relevant rehearsal materials

• Communicate effectively with local producer:s and the ensemble

We are looking for a director with proven experience in putting together ensembles and realizing productions on the basis of existing creative materials (scripts etc. are available in full)
