Job description
For the resumption of our touring theater productions JESUS LOVES ME and DEUTSCHER, we are seeking a VAT Specialist or equivalent (f/m/d) to provide technical support for the upcoming rehearsals and guest performance dates at various venues with a focus on lighting (familiarity with ETC EOS control systems and experience with theater productions are a plus) at the following dates (Class B driver’s license with experience driving vans up to 3.5 metric tons required). Performances will take place in theaters (or theater-like venues), civic centers, and appropriately equipped school auditoriums:
September 13–19, 2026 (Setup and teardown/loading and unloading, as well as rehearsals at our production site in 84405 Dorfen, Upper Bavaria)
September 27September 13–October 12, 2026 (including travel/rest days on tour on September 27, 2026, October 3–4, 2026, Oct. 8–9, 26
Oct. 17–19, 26 (Oct. 17 and 19, 26 are travel days, October 19, 26, with unloading at the production site)
October 22–24, 26 (October 24, 26: loading at the production site and travel to the Oberrheinhalle Offenburg venue, Oct. 24, 26: Return trip to the production site and unloading)
Nov. 30 – Dec. 4, 26 (Nov. 30, 26: Loading at the production site and travel to Nördlingen, Klösterle venue; Dec. 2, 26: Onward travel to Langen, Stadthalle venue; Dec. 4, 2026: Return trip and unloading at the production site)
Dec. 18–20, 2026 (Dec. 18, 2026: Loading at the production site and travel to Amberg, venue: Stadttheater, December 20, 26 Return trip and unloading at the production site
January 11–22, 27 (January 11, 27 Loading at the production site and travel to Hameln, Venue: Theater Hameln, Jan. 12, 2027: Setup, technical rehearsal, and dress rehearsal; Jan. 13, 2027: Return trip, possibly by van to place of residence; additional performance dates are Jan. 17 and 21, 2027
Information on the fee (invoiced):
400 EUR per show day (base fee)
15 EUR per 100 km (or part thereof) for travel on the show day
200 EUR per travel day (excluding setup at the venue; may include loading or unloading at the production site)
300 EUR per travel day with setup (total fee may be finalized on the show day)
400 EUR per travel day with setup and complete total fee (if rehearsal, same as show day with travel)
(Fees for rehearsal days will be discussed individually)
100 EUR per (standby-only) day at the venue/production site
Hotels are generally booked by the organizer (at the organizer’s expense).
Technical equipment and stage are transported in 3.5-metric-ton vans (with box bodies if necessary) (our team: 1 x lighting, 1 x sound, 1 x stage); no forklifts; venues are generally equipped with loading ramps; On-site, there are usually at least 3–4 stagehands/stage technicians and at least 1 person in charge of VAT
Travel distances on show days are usually under 300 km
If the collaboration goes well, this may be continued in the spring of 2027 as part of the lighting design and technical tour support for a new project with 18 performance dates from February through the end of April 2027.
