Best Ager Actor:in (m/d) as "Karl" for the short film "Tschö"
We are looking for an actor for the role of KARL (50)
This is what the film is about: Paul is dead. He sends his family on a scavenger hunt around the will - just to say goodbye to them personally.
Running time: approx. 15 minutes
Genre: absurd comedy
Shooting period: 06.-11.01.2026 (total 2 rehearsal days, 4 shooting days - but we probably only need the role of Karl on 2 shooting days)
Shooting will take place in Idstein, about an hour's drive from Frankfurt. It would be great if you come from Hessen, but applications from outside are also welcome.
As this is a student production, which is largely financed by private funds, we unfortunately do not have the possibility to pay a fee. However, we will of course cover travel costs, accommodation if necessary and delicious meals on set. You are also welcome to use material from the film for your showreel.

Role description:
Karl is Paul's eldest child. He spent his life drifting around with relatively little direction, then decided to do an apprenticeship, which he completed and later a dual course of study. Thanks to his uncompromising approach to his career, he has secured a good position in a large medium-sized craft business. However, he also enjoys working on his own projects on the side, preferably untaxed, because he doesn't think much of government influence. His self-esteem is based on his annual earnings. He often behaves insecurely and superficially towards his family members. In his private life, he is reluctant to take the initiative and lets his wife set the pace of their life together. He is not happy in his relationship. However, a fulfilling sex life deceives him about how unhappy he actually is. He likes to channel his frustration against "those up there" and other parts of society. In recent years, he has become politically radicalized, but without losing the facade of a righteous normal guy in a too-tight business shirt. His family doesn't care as long as he keeps his mouth shut at the dinner table - which he actually manages to do.
