Job description
We are looking for a Stage Design Assistant

Maxim Gorki Theater in 10117 Berlin with all associated outdoor venues
The Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin is one of Berlin's state-run ensemble theaters. It is characterized by a history of political and artistic upheavals. Built as a concert hall for the Berlin Singakademie, it was reopened as a spoken theater in 1952 and has continued to provide decisive artistic impetus ever since. Located between Humboldt University and Museum Island, the theater is a place of transdisciplinary exchange and political debate using artistic means that transcend genre boundaries. From the 2026/27 season, the Maxim Gorki Theater will be realigned under the direction of Çağla Ilk as a house of the arts, contradictions and new departures.
Your tasks:
Interface between artistic teams and the departments of the theatre
Collaborate closely with the stage and trades
Supervise and support the realization of the resulting productions in all phases of the processes
Supervise rehearsals in direct collaboration with the stage designer, the artistic ensemble and the technical departments
Participation in jour fixes with the assistant directors and stage design assistants under the direction of the artistic director
Participation in final rehearsals and post-production discussions
Pre- and post-processing of rehearsals
Documentation and recording of rehearsals
Communication between the various departments and the production
Contract data:
The contractual relationship is based on the provisions of the standard stage contract (NV Bühne), special regulation solo

Role / Requirements profile
Your profile:
Relevant studies and/or first experience as a set assistant in the field of acting
Very high interest in theater for contemporary art and transdisciplinary projects
Very good German and English language skills
Good knowledge of AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop
Independent work, creative thinking and a high level of commitment
Resilience and willingness to work changing hours, weekends and public holidays
