Makeup Artist (m/f/d) for "Theater Hagen"

With its divisions of musical theater, ballet, drama, concerts, and children’s and youth theater, the Theater Hagen is the leading cultural institution in the city of Hagen and the region between the Ruhr and the Sauerland.

We are currently seeking a makeup artist for the areas of opera, operetta, musicals, ballet, and drama. 

Responsibilities: 

• All technical and artistic tasks associated with the role 

• Designing and implementing requirements in collaboration with the artistic teams 

• Preparation for and support of rehearsals and performances 

• Performance duties 

• Participation in touring productions 

Employment is full-time (39 hours per week) in accordance with the NV Bühne collective bargaining agreement (SR Stage Technician). The position requires working on Sundays and holidays as well as in the evenings.

Requirements:

• Successfully completed vocational training as a makeup artist 

• Solid knowledge of women’s and men’s hairstyling 

• Additional training in hairdressing is an advantage—expertise in styling wigs and natural hair across all historical periods for both men and women—good knowledge of prop and mask construction, hair styling, and all aspects of makeup application 

• Creativity in bringing artistic concepts to life 

• Ability to work independently and a strong sense of responsibility 

• Ability to work in a team and sensitivity in dealing with performers—knowledge of foreign languages (especially English) is desirable
