We are looking for, at the start of the 2026/2027 season (beginning in August 2026)

a makeup artist (m/f/d)

for our theater productions

• Compensation in accordance with the provisions of the Standard Contract (NV) for the stage; the current monthly salary for entry-level professionals is €3,095 gross under the collective bargaining agreement. Individuals with at least two years of professional experience receive €3,310 gross under the collective bargaining agreement. You will negotiate the monthly salary based on your qualifications and professional experience

Your responsibilities:

• Hair work, particularly the creation and maintenance of wigs, toupees, hairpieces, and beards; this also includes styling, e.g., historical hairstyles

• Creation of masks and special effects; Working with plaster, silicone, PU foam, etc.

• Supporting rehearsals and performances; Applying wigs, applying makeup, and styling the performers’ hair

• Creating production-specific documentation

This employment relationship is governed by the Standard Stage Contract (NV Bühne) and is primarily artistic in nature.

What you bring to the table:

• Completed training or degree as a state-certified makeup artist (m/f/d) or relevant professional experience

• Enjoy working as part of a team

• Sensitivity in dealing with artists and performers and their needs

• Flexibility and the ability to handle stress, especially given the typical theater work schedule

• Knowledge of German preferred; alternatively, knowledge of English
