Makeup Artist (m/f/d) as Assistant Department Head at the “Theater in der Josefstadt”

The renowned Theater in der Josefstadt in Vienna is one of the leading spoken-word theaters in the German-speaking world. At its two venues—the Theater in der Josefstadt and the Kammerspiele der Josefstadt—approximately 14 new productions are staged each season, and about 550 performances from the repertoire are presented.

makeup artist to serve as Deputy Department Head (m/f/d)

Your Responsibilities

• Scheduling and organizing performances and rehearsals

• Creating and maintaining makeup for new productions and repertoire pieces

• Supervising performances and rehearsals (for both female and male roles)

We offer:
We offer a gross monthly salary of €3,000 (full-time – 40 hours per week) plus additional allowances and overtime pay. Special payments; annual vacation entitlement is 7 weeks; we are willing to offer a higher salary based on proven prior work experience!

Our Requirements

• A state-recognized degree as a makeup artist or other relevant training in the field of makeup

• Prior training as a hairstylist is a plus

• Several years of professional experience in theater or film

• Leadership and interpersonal skills, as well as motivation and assertiveness

• Creativity, a solution-oriented, efficient, and independent work style, and manual dexterity

• The ability to work well in a team, reliability, resilience under stress, and personal commitment are important to us

• Good computer skills

• Very good written and spoken German and good written and spoken English

• Flexibility and willingness to work varying shifts, including weekends and holidays

• Apprenticeship trainer certification is a plus
