Job description
The Landestheater Linz and the Bruckner Orchestra Linz are part of OÖ. Theater und Orchester GmbH (TOG). With more than 350,000 attendees and over 800 employees, the company is one of Austria’s largest cultural institutions.
For our makeup artist team, we are seeking, starting September 2026, a
MAKEUP ARTIST:(M/F/D)
FULL-TIME 38 H
Your responsibilities will include
Workshop, rehearsal, and performance duties
All relevant makeup-related work for a production
Providing makeup support and guidance to the performing cast
Creating wigs, beards, hairpieces, and hair extensions; Hairstyling
Character design, makeup, and body painting
Production of rigid and flexible masks
Production of sculptural design elements and tools

If you have completed a makeup artist apprenticeship, the monthly salary is EUR 3,101.62 gross; if you have completed a hairdresser apprenticeship, it is EUR 2,992.72 gross (in each case for full-time employment and excluding prior work experience). Depending on your professional experience, a higher salary may be possible.

Role / Requirements profile
What We Expect From You
Completed training as a makeup artist or as a hairstylist, with several years of professional experience
Preferably several years of professional experience in theater, opera, or film
manual dexterity and a reliable work ethic
ability to work independently and autonomously: Creativity, aesthetic sensibility
Strong interpersonal skills, team spirit, reliability, and the ability to handle stress
Willingness to work standard theater hours, evening, weekend, and holiday work, as well as split shifts
