The Deutsche Theater in Göttingen GmbH is looking for a make-up artist (m/f/d)


for the 2026/2027 


season to support our permanent team, consisting of three permanent employees and two trainees 

The Deutsche Theater in Göttingen is a theater that stages around 20 new productions per season with over 180 employees, including 26 permanent actors. It offers a diverse repertoire in classical, modern and musical theater as well as children's and youth theater in three venues.

Your main responsibilities:

• creative realization of the make-up concepts of the director and the set designer

• professional production of masks, wigs, hairpieces, beards and their care

• plaster work, Reproduction techniques of body parts, creation of injuries and baldness

• Make-up and hairdressing of the performers before and during rehearsals and performances

• Compensation: Career starters up to 2 years of professional experience: starting salary (€ 3010.00 gross), > 2 years of professional experience: minimum salary (€ 3220.00 gross) and upwards, depending on professional experience

Your qualifications:

• You have completed training as a make-up artist (IHK) or have a degree in make-up artistry.

• Thanks to your professional experience and specialist knowledge, you will work independently and contribute your own ideas when completing tasks.

• You work conscientiously and reliably.

• You are professional and sensitive in your dealings with artists.

• You have the ability to radiate calm and composure in the midst of the hustle and bustle before and during a performance.
