Job description
We are looking for a make-up artist (f/m/d) for the start of the 2026/2027 season
Location:
The Maxim Gorki Theater Berlin is one of Berlin's state-run ensemble theaters. It is characterized by a history of political and artistic upheavals. Built as a concert hall for the Berlin Singakademie, it was reopened as a spoken theater in 1952 and has continued to provide decisive artistic impetus ever since. Located between Humboldt University and Museum Island, the theater is a place of transdisciplinary exchange and political debate with artistic means across genre boundaries. From the 2026/27 season, the Maxim Gorki Theater will be realigned under the direction of Çağla Ilk as a house of arts, contradictions and new departures.
Your tasks:
All make-up work required in a theater (including making, cutting and styling, putting on wigs / women and men, sculptural work, working with latex, silicone, etc.), regular make-up supervision of performances)
Contract details:
The contractual relationship is based on the provisions of the standard stage contract (NV Bühne), special regulation for stage technicians
Salary on a negotiated basis
Part-time, 75%
Fixed-term - parental leave replacement until 31. July 2027

Role / Requirements profile
Your profile:
State-recognized qualification as a make-up artist
Completed hairdressing training or comparable skills and experience
Professional experience in theatre
Sound knowledge of ladies' and men's hairdressing
Flexibility, Improvisational skills, goal-oriented way of working, team spirit
good knowledge of English
the ability to work under pressure and the willingness to work changing hours, weekends and public holidays
