Italian-speaking singer (f/d) for the in-house production “La scala di seta”

For the Kirchstetten Classical Festival’s in-house production of G. Rossini’s “La scala di seta” in the summer of 2027, we are looking for

Please prepare the following passages in Italian:

Premiere: July 28, 2027
Performances: August 30, 31, 2, 4, 6, and 7, 2027
Venue: Kirchstetten Castle, Maulpertsch Hall (approx. 160 seats)

Rehearsals begin: starting July 2, 2027 (rehearsals in Vienna for the first 2 weeks and on-site in Kirchstetten for 2 weeks).
Attendance is mandatory throughout the entire rehearsal period.

You must prepare a video of the specified passage from your respective part:

• Recorded with a cell phone

• Ideally, your entire body should be visible in the video (though this is not required)

• Submissions due by November 22, 2027.

If you are shortlisted, we would be delighted to meet you in a virtual meeting at the end of November 2026.

The festival does not cover any costs incurred for the audition. However, you are welcome to request a receipt for these expenses.

The payment for the entire production is approximately EUR 4,000, plus a lump sum for travel and lodging (if you do not reside in Vienna).

Applications must include a resume, photo, and video.

GIULIA (Soprano)

• Age range: 25–40

• Comedic talent and timing. Great enthusiasm for acting.

• Coloratura soprano

Other requirements:

• A car is a plus

• Work permit for the EU or Austria
