The Bavarian State Opera is seeking as soon as possible a full-time

Interim Chief Makeup Artist as a sick leave replacement (m/f/d)

Your responsibilities:

• Responsibility for the professional artistic and technical execution of makeup designs for all new productions in opera, ballet, and additional projects, as well as ensuring high-quality support for the entire repertoire of the current season

• Ensuring the smooth operation and efficient workflow of the entire department

• Scheduling and organizing fittings

• Creating duty rosters, time and cost estimates, and procurement of materials

• Participating in meetings and rehearsals

Your Qualifications:

• A recognized makeup artist training program and several years of experience in a leadership position (preferably at an opera house)

• High level of artistic sensitivity and creativity

• Flexibility, passion, independence, and professionalism

• Ability to work under pressure, organizational skills, and a team player

• A willingness to experiment and a love of the theatrical arts

• Willingness to work evenings and weekends

• Good command of English
