Your Job

More than a show. A world of glamour, elegance, and allure.

As the host of the Burlesque Theater on the Mein Schiff fleet, you are the face and voice of an extraordinary show format. You’ll lead two high-quality productions, blending music, dance, and performance, and use your unique style to create a special connection with the audience.

You’re more than just a host: Through live singing, acting, improvisation, and your personal stage persona, you shape the atmosphere of the Burlesque Theater and make every evening a special experience.

• Hosting and artistic direction of two high-quality burlesque shows

• Greeting and hosting guests as they enter the show (approx. 20 min.)

• Live singing with piano accompaniment as well as to selected playbacks

• Presentation of hosting segments, vocal numbers, scenic transitions, and audience interactions

• Bringing your individual hosting and stage style within the artistic framework of the productions

• Confident improvisation and direct interaction with the audience

• Close artistic collaboration with the pianist, the ensemble, the dance captain, the acrobatics team, and the technical crew

• Participation in all scheduled music, scene, technical, and repertoire rehearsals

• Willingness to perform double shows when the schedule requires it

• Professional representation of the Burlesque Theater and direct contact with our guests

• Participation in the joint rehearsal and training phase in Berlin prior to the first onboard performance

 Here’s what you can look forward to:

• The opportunity to bring your own artistic personality to the stage. An established stage persona is welcome but not required—what matters most is your charisma, your musical talent, and your ability to win over an audience.

• A predictable engagement with two onboard stints of approximately 10 weeks each

• Accommodation in a single crew cabin as well as guest privileges throughout the ship

Your Background & Talents

What You Bring to the Table:

• Professional vocal training or a comparable artistic qualification

• Very confident and expressive live singing skills

• Several years of professional stage experience, for example as a singer, host, presenter, conferencier/conférencière, actor/actress, or in a comparable role

• Strong hosting, acting, and improvisation skills, as well as confidence in public speaking

• Charismatic stage presence and an authentic, unique hosting and stage style

• Excellent verbal and comedic timing, as well as a passion for spontaneous audience interaction

• Solid vocal technique and experience with piano accompaniment, playbacks, and musical cues

• Experience in live entertainment, musical theater, revue, variety shows, comedy, or similar show formats

• Previous experience in burlesque is not required – Experience in burlesque, cabaret, revue, or similar formats is welcome

• Openness to the glamorous, sensual, and provocatively elegant aesthetic of burlesque theater

• Excellent German skills and very good English skills

• Professional demeanor, quick learner, reliability, and strong teamwork skills

• Experience aboard a cruise ship is a plus
