Director of Studies / Deputy Choir Director / Kapellmeister (m/f/d) for the "Stadttheater Gießen"

The Stadttheater Gießen is one of six large publicly funded theaters in Hesse and, as a multi-genre house with national appeal, a cultural center in Central Hesse. It offers a diverse repertoire on two stages in the areas of young theater, drama, musical theater, dance, concerts and various special events.

The Stadttheater Gießen is looking for a director of studies, deputy choir director and conductor (m/f/d) from the 2026/27 season.

The central activity of the Director of Studies is the rehearsal and preparation of the singers for the upcoming roles.

The Director of Studies is also responsible for the organizational processes and planning in the area of singers and pianists. In particular, the study director is responsible for drawing up the weekly and daily schedules. 

The study director is also the deputy choir director. In principle, one to two choral studies per season are to be carried out by the director of studies.

In the area of conductor, the focus is on selected dance productions, concerts for young audiences and post-opera conducting. For the coming season, we are currently planning three of our own productions and several post-conductorships.

The position is based on NV Bühne SR Solo.
