More than a show. A world of glamour, elegance, and allure.

As Dance Captain of the Burlesque Theater on the Mein Schiff fleet, you combine a strong stage presence with artistic responsibility. You’ll perform as a burlesque dancer in both productions while also taking on the choreographic leadership of your ensemble.

With your eye for precision, musicality, and expression, you ensure that choreographies and productions are executed at the highest level—and serve as the central point of contact for your dancers.

• Full participation as a burlesque dancer in two high-quality burlesque shows

• Artistic and choreographic leadership of the three burlesque dancers in your ensemble

• Leading the 7-day rehearsal and training phase in Berlin prior to the first cruise, as well as conducting warm-ups, run-throughs, brush-ups, and choreographic show checks

• Ensuring precise and consistent execution of choreography, formations, transitions, and show sequences

• Communicating and tracking artistic notes and corrections

• Ensuring quality in terms of synchronization, musicality, alignment, precision, and stylistic unity of the ensemble

• Close collaboration with the Production Supervisor as well as the relevant artistic and technical departments

• Participation and involvement in all rehearsals and repertoire rehearsals for the respective show formats

• Willingness to perform double shows when scheduled

 Here’s what you can look forward to:

• A key artistic role within the Burlesque Theater: You are part of the shows yourself and, at the same time, play a key role in maintaining the highest standards of dance quality and the collective style of your ensemble.

• Predictable engagement with two onboard stints of approximately 10 weeks each

• Accommodation in a single crew cabin as well as guest privileges throughout the ship

Your Course & your talents

Here’s what you’ll bring to the table:

• Professional dance training or a comparable artistic qualification

• Solid ballet or classical dance techniquewith exceptional body control, line, and precision of movement

• Several years of professional stage experience and versatility as a dancer, for example in jazz, show dance, heels, commercial, or contemporary

• Demonstrable experience as a dance captain, Rehearsal Captain, Assistant Choreographer, or in a comparable artistic leadership role

• Experience in coaching, correcting, and ensuring the quality of professional dancers and ensembles

• Confidence in wearing high heels, as well as an elegant, expressive, and self-assured stage presence

• Strong musicality, quick comprehension, and the ability to convey choreographic concepts clearly and motivatingly

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills, as well as a strong sense of how to work within an ensemble

• Proficiency in working with digital rehearsal materials, videos, cast schedules, notes, and version histories

• Experience in burlesque, revue, cabaret, or similar show formats is a plus

• Excellent English skills; knowledge of German is a plus

• A professional and engaging demeanor, reliability, resilience, and a high attention to detail

• Experience aboard a cruise ship is a plus

 Note regarding the burlesque component: 

• A confident, elegant, playful, and sensual approach to physicality on stage is expected

• Due to specific choreographic and production requirements for this role, a height of approximately 173 cm is required

• No topless performances: The maximum level of undressing extends to underwear or nipple pasties
