Costume Assistant (m / f / d)
for the 2025 festival season in the period 26.05. - 18.07.2026 for the opera production "OTELLO" by Giuseppe Verdi on the open-air stage 'Rittersaal' at Hellenstein Castle (in the Festspielhaus CCH as a bad weather venue) with premiere on 03.07.2026, as well as for the opera production "MACBETH" by Giuseppe Verdi in the Festspielhaus CCH with premiere on 16.07.2026.
The Heidenheim Opera Festival is a traditional, internationally oriented classical music festival with the highest artistic standards. The extensive summer festival program focuses on in-house opera productions and symphony concerts as well as the open-air venue Rittersaal Schloss Hellenstein and the modern, acoustically top-class Festspielhaus Congress Centrum Heidenheim. Marcus Bosch has been Festival Director since 2010 and has developed the opera festival extremely dynamically: expansion of content and program, doubling of audience numbers and self-financing, award as "Best Festival" 2025 (OPER!- Award) and winner of the Opus Klassik!Award) and winner of the Opus Klassik 2025 (production Giovanna d' Arco), the collaboration with the Stuttgart Philharmonic Orchestra and the Czech Philharmonic Choir Brno and a series of early operas by Giuseppe Verdi make the Opera Festival one of the most interesting classical music festivals in Germany. The Opera Festival is directed by the city of Heidenheim.

We expect you to:
Contact person and direct assistant for the costume designers of the productions "OTELLO" (costume design: Claudia Pernigotti) and "MACBETH" (set design: Andreas Baesler)
close cooperation with the costume management of the Opera Festival
coordination and supervision of piece-related production processes in all trades
organization and preparation of costume rehearsals
material determination and research, Making play-related purchases
taking on arts and crafts activities
supervising rehearsals and final rehearsals of the production
creating costume lists and play-related documentation folders

We offer you:
Contract duration: 26.05. - 18.07.2026
Billing on the basis of a work contract
Accommodation in Heidenheim will be provided for the duration of your stay

Your profile
We are looking for a motivated applicant with the following requirements:
You are currently studying costume design / fashion design or have already successfully completed your studies
Professional experience in the (music) theater business and good references
Professional competence and knowledge of the processes of an opera/theater production, especially in the field of costume design
Teamworking skills and problem-solving abilities. in the field of costume design
