As part of the 3rd semester of my film production studies, I am looking for an actress for the lead role of Nika for my final project.
The story in a modern setting is about a creative crisis and how to overcome it through self-reflection. With an art-house style and animation work, the aim is to create a hopeful film that speaks to the viewer and other artists in a personal way.
Plot
When a young and ambitious artist collects her portfolio works from her old art teacher, she learns about a competition on the theme of "The Meaning of Creation". Determined, she decides to take part. But the more she feels the pressure to perform and the time pressure on her, the more blurred and unclear her dreams become, which she uses as her only source of inspiration.
Premise
The true, creative process is an act of love.
Director and contact person: Anastasiia
Characterization
Nika is a newly qualified artist who is still inexperienced and just beginning her professional journey. She recently graduated from art school and is eager to experience the world and reality of an artist. She is talented and has great potential.
In her nature, she is a curious, creative and ambitious person, which is why she often comes across as dominant. One of her greatest character strengths is her determination, which sometimes even turns into stubbornness. This indicates that she also carries a certain pride within her. If she has set herself a goal, she will acquire the necessary skills and expect herself to get it right from the start. The longer process is often something secondary for her, which reinforces her impulsiveness.
Nika is clever and interesting as an artist due to her unique source of inspiration - her extraordinary, fantastic dreams.
From the outside, however, she appears much more self-confident and dominant than she actually is. She has no self-love and therefore has very low self-esteem. As she lacks this love, she unconsciously tries to fill her inner emptiness with external factors. This is why she tends to be perfectionist in her actions and strive for perfection. She projects her high expectations of herself onto her surroundings and her creations, which only makes her more anxious. She feels she has to prove herself in order to be satisfied. That's why competition plays a central role for her - it's how she proves herself worthy.
