Play Synopsis: "Closer" by Patrick Marber is a riveting and intense exploration of modern relationships, love, and betrayal. Set in London, the play follows the intertwining lives of four characters—Dan, Alice, Anna, and Larry—whose paths cross and re-cross as they navigate the complexities of love, lust, and deception. As they grapple with the consequences of their choices, the play delves into the raw and unfiltered emotions that define human connection. Character Description: Anna, a complex and enigmatic photographer in her late 20s to mid-30s, exudes intelligence, confidence, and a magnetic presence. Navigating desire, honesty, and blurred lines in the unfolding drama, she balances strength and vulnerability. While cynical and calculated, Anna allows herself to fall in love, showcasing a considered and non-impulsive nature. As a photographer managing artistic aspirations with practicality, she emanates both warmth and aloofness, with an undercurrent of melancholy. Requirements: - Female - Age: 25-35 - Strong acting skills with the ability to convey a wide range of emotions - Comfortable with intense and intimate scenes (no nudity) - Extensive acting training and/or Previous experience in dramatic roles preferred - Fluent in english (the play will be performed in english) Audition Process: - Scenes from the play will be provided upon confirmation of audition. - Cold readings with selected scenes from "Closer." - Be prepared to discuss your interpretation of the character and the themes of the play. Project Financing: As of now, the financing of the project is still in progress, and various avenues, including crowdfunding, are being explored to ensure the successful realization of "Closer." We appreciate the commitment and dedication of all involved in the production as we work towards securing the necessary resources. We provide catering and cover the costs of the rehearsal rooms so that you as an actor do not incur any costs. In the spirit of collaboration and fairness, any surplus generated from ticket sales will be shared equally among the four main actors. Rehearsal Schedule: Rehearsals for "Closer" will primarily take place after 5 pm during weekdays and may extend into the evening.
