Supporting role (f/d) as a “nurse” for a comedy commercial featuring “SSIO”

We’re casting a nurse for a commercial featuring the rapper SSIO. The role has no lines, but plenty of screen time.

The story: A heavily pregnant goth girl—SSIO’s wife in the commercial—is lying in the delivery room, giving birth to her child. But in the end, it’s not a baby that comes out—it’s a Christmas tree. You storm into the room just as the chief physician calls for backup, help pull, scream along with everyone else, push the bed out into the courtyard, tie the rope to a Smart car, and cheer on the woman in labor.

The humor of the role lies in the contrast: You do all this with the ease of someone who’s seen a thousand births—no hesitation, no look of confusion on your face—and then burst into wild screams as you help pull. An experienced shift worker to whom nothing is unfamiliar. She gets the job done, no matter what it entails.

Tone: over-the-top, crude humor in the style of SSIO. The ad promotes its Tannenbusch store; there are corresponding cannabis references. If this isn’t your thing, you’re in the wrong place.

• No spoken lines, but strong acting without words: facial expressions, presence, reactions

• Deadpan demeanor: Take the situation completely seriously, even when it becomes absurd, and don’t grin

• Willingness to get loud—shouting and cheering while pulling are part of it

• Physical performance: Pulling, pushing the bed, commotion in the room

• Open to humor: The spot features crude jokes and cannabis references. We’ll send you the script in advance so you know exactly what you’re getting into
