Lead actor (m/f) as "Jonny" for a student short film

Jonathan “Jonny” Hamsal (male, on-screen age 25–32)

I am looking for an actor to play the lead role in a psychological thriller short film.

Jonny is intelligent, humorous, and down-to-earth. He is in his 8th semester of medical school and is pursuing his goal of one day becoming a respected doctor with great discipline. Between lectures, exams, and the daily grind at the hospital, he has little free time, yet he always makes time for the people who matter to him.

For years, he has shared a close friendship with Yasim (the protagonist). The two live together in a shared apartment and, despite their different personalities, are practically inseparable. Jonny constantly tries to pull his friend out of his isolation and get him to socialize, which often leads to arguments.

Jonny enjoys discussing all kinds of conspiracy theories, though he rarely takes them seriously. To him, they’re usually more like amusing thought experiments than actual explanations for the world. He likes to debate, ask questions, and view many things with a mix of curiosity and skepticism.

On the surface, Jonny comes across as easygoing, quick-witted, and relaxed. What many don’t see is that the pressure of medical school weighs on him more heavily than he would admit. He is deeply afraid of failing and copes with this pressure by rationalizing problems or brushing them off with humor. He often keeps joking even when others have already realized that a situation is turning serious.

Jonny is convinced that most problems can be solved with logic, charm, and a clear head. This attitude makes him likable, but it also leads him to sometimes underestimate dangers or recognize warning signs too late.

He has a particular fondness for Albert Einstein. He quotes him regularly—often at the most inappropriate moments—and likes to use his quotes to comment on situations or express his view of things.
