Newcomer

Actress (f/d) as "Maeve" for a student queer short film

Application phase closed
Job description

Hello, we are looking for an actress for the supporting role in a student-produced short film. It's a queer story from a small town.

The character is Maeve Scott, the younger sister of the non-binary lead, Jules Scott. Maeve, like Jules, is a respectful and queer-friendly person and the only one of Jules' family who knows of their identity. The two have a close relationship.

About the film:
When Jules Scott learns that her little sister Maeve is taking part in a beauty contest that she doesn't want to enter, the two decide to swap places.

The short film is directed by two students from the third semester of the SAE Institute in Leipzig. The duration of the film is about 12 minutes and the shooting period corresponds to 4 days, which are the days from 20.01.2025 to 24.01.2025.

We are students, so we don't have a big budget, but we would help out with travel and accommodation as far as our resources allow. Catering on set will of course be arranged by us.

I hope for a good cooperation!

Role/requirement profile

Maeve Scott is intelligent and well-read and takes part in a beauty contest because her mother insists on it and wants to realize her own dreams through her daughter.

We are looking for a person who is just as queer-friendly as the character to be played and is also open-minded, playful and creative.

Since our project is produced in Leipzig, it would of course be ideal if applicants came from the surrounding area or had no difficulties with travel.
