Casting call - role "Clara's sister" for short film "Symmetry"

"In the 19th century, the perfect symmetry of the New City is shaken and Clara is forced to flee - a dangerous journey through power and manipulation in search of freedom."

For our student graduation film "Symmetry - Im Schatten der Mauer" (Macromedia University Cologne) we are looking for an actress for the role of Clara's older sister - a young woman who has submitted to the system and silently carries an unspeakable burden with her.

Role: Clara's older sister

• Age: approx. 20-30 years (playing age)

• Type: quiet, controlled, inwardly extinguished - heavily pregnant

• Character:
  Clara's sister lives in complete conformity to the rules of the New City. She is heavily pregnant - the result of a "sacred ritual" that no one talks about. It is considered an honor in society, but in reality it is violence. The rituals are not discussed. Anyone who resists disappears.

Clara's sister remains silent. Not out of conviction - but because it is the only way to survive. She adheres to order and etiquette, even though she has long ceased to live inside. Her presence is characterized by a tragic rigidity - she is a woman who has given up on herself in order to protect what she has left.

• Play style: Minimalist. Her pain is revealed in silence, in glances, in complete control over every movement. A silent presence with great depth.

• About the project:

  "Symmetry" is a 15-minute dystopian short film about control, adaptation and the painful path to freedom. The film was made as part of a final project at Macromedia University Cologne. Clara's sister symbolizes the system: beautiful, correct, controlled - and deeply destructive.
