Job description
For a Vox Pop-style commercial, we are looking for a host who will act as a reporter on location.
The role combines two elements: a casual, friendly street interview with passersby—and a direct, slightly journalistic on-camera moment in which the host conveys the commercial’s core message to the viewer. The host serves as the link between the everyday scene and the product message, and is thus the driving force behind the entire format.
The client is a German insurance company, and two insurance products will be advertised.
APPLICATION
Please send us:
3–4 recent photos
A short film or showreel—ideally featuring hosting or on-camera moments (no professional editing required; a cell phone video is sufficient as long as your personality comes through)
A short video introduction answering the following questions:
Answer casually and in your own words:
1. Who are you, and how did you get into working with the camera?
Whether through formal training, by chance, or via a YouTube channel—we’re interested in your journey.
2. Describe a moment when you had to convince someone—and how you did it.
This can be a professional or personal situation.
3. Someone on the street dodges your question. What do you do?
Show us how you handle resistance or evasion—and whether you stay relaxed while doing so.
4. Speak directly to the camera for 10 seconds—say anything you think is important.
The content doesn’t matter. We want to see how you maintain eye contact with the camera.
Role / Requirements profile
THE ROLE
The host moves convincingly between two modes:
Relaxed, curious, with a natural sense of the right moment. He asks questions without pressing—and reacts authentically to the passersby’s answers. Not a clichéd TV reporter, but someone who comes across as genuinely listening.
The host then addresses the viewer directly to convey the core message. This calls for persuasiveness—clear, warm, and without a preachy tone. The tone: informative, yet human.
DESIRED CANDIDATE PROFILE
Age: approx. 35–45 years old
Impression: approachable, serious without being stiff—the kind of person you’d spontaneously respond to on the street
Appearance: well-groomed, everyday appearance—not the classic news anchor look, but rather that of a credible journalist from a local station or a confident content creator
All genders welcome
REQUIREMENTS
Experience as a host, voice-over artist, journalist, or comparable on-camera experience
Fluent, natural delivery without reading from a script—the text will be provided, but must sound like your own words
Ability to conduct interviews in a lively and unforced manner
Full transfer of rights for TV, online, and social media use (buyout)
Gender
Male / Female / Non-binary

35 – 45 years
