2 Eelam Tamil women to play the lead roles in an art film

Europewide Casting Call! We are looking for two Eelam Tamil leads for an art film. The film will premiere as part of an immersive installation in the context of solo exhibitions at the Institute of Contemporary Art, London, and the Museum für Moderne Kunst, Frankfurt, before traveling to Moscow and the United States in 2022. A festival release is intended, the performance will receive international attention and we look forward to working with you on this very special project. CASTING CALL: We're looking for two Eelam Tamil women to play the lead roles. CIS, female-identifying, gender-queer applicants welcome. > You will be portraying characters that are between 25-35 years old. > These are speaking roles: you should be fluent in English – all accents are welcome – Tamil is a plus though absolutely not a requirement. Also you should be comfortable memorising dialogue and capable of subtle, documentary-style naturalistic delivery. > We're looking for artistic personalities, with a commanding presence in front of the camera. You should be comfortable with improvisation in spontaneous situations. > There will be some movement and dancing involved, it would be great if you were confident moving naturally in front of a camera and comfortable doing choreography. Some basic knowledge in Dance and Martial Arts would be a plus but not essential. Traditional Tamil dance would be a plus. FURTHER INFORMATION: > this is a paid opportunity. > Our shooting schedule depends on how the COVID situation develops. We intend to shoot 3-4 days in late February/March in Berlin and another week internationally in May/June. We have some flexibility in our schedule and may be able to work around your availability. > International travel may be required and your travel and accommodation will of course be covered.
