Job description

I am now looking for different roles for my bachelor movie :). The movie will have a length of 25-35 minutes.

Logline

What begins as an escape from violence leads two sisters into a system of control and dependency, in which their bodies become a commodity and freedom or disappearance is decided in invisible power structures.

Synoposis

What begins as an escape from domestic violence leads the sisters Nadaiya and Ruma into a world of control, dependency and silent violence, in which freedom exists only as a promise.

With every step, Nadaiya and Ruma lose more support and orientation. Decisions do not seem to be made openly, but arise from an invisible web of dependencies that determines who stays, is passed on or disappears. The world seems both familiar and strange at the same time, as if its boundaries and standards have silently shifted.

Nadaiya initially tries to keep a way out open through control, vigilance and resistance, while Ruma begins to adapt to the logic of the system in order to survive at all. A silent, growing rift develops between the two, as protection becomes excessive demands and closeness becomes a test of endurance.

A system in which women are classified, evaluated and passed on in digital and real spaces is at the heart of the story. Male-dominated networks decide on their allocation in an unofficial cycle that functions like a market. It is precisely its apparent normality that makes the underlying violence invisible and effective.

As the boundaries of this world finally blur, Nadaiya attempts one last escape at the end, which points beyond the individual location and breaks the illusion of a closed system. This moment not only marks an attempt at liberation, but also the realization that the system does not end locally, but continues across countries, spaces and structures.

The film sees itself as an enlightening examination of modern forms of structural exploitation and control in the digital age and shows how power works both through direct violence and through invisibility, dependency and normalization, while at the same time content of those affected is consumed, often without knowledge of the conditions under which it is created.

Role / Requirements profile

!!! Small changes may still occur, this is for guidance!!!

  • The role is intended to include scenes in which physicality, implied nudity and violence are portrayed in the context of the story, as these elements are part of the narrative discussion and the enlightening intention of the film. At the same time, care is taken to ensure that the portrayal is done responsibly and that clear psychological care and a supportive framework for the performer is guaranteed throughout the production process.

Nadaiya is Ruma's older sister and takes on a protective, leading role early on. To the outside world, she appears calm, controlled and disciplined, someone who quickly adapts to new rules in order to survive and keep her bearings. However, this adaptability is not a sign of freedom, but a learned strategy to remain capable of acting in uncertain structures.

At its core, Nadaiya has a strong inner resistance. She does not accept situations in silence, but observes, analyzes and tries to keep her distance mentally. At the same time, as the story progresses, she begins to realize that pure resistance alone is not enough to escape the system. This creates an inner conflict between adaptation and self-assertion.

She increasingly finds herself in a field of tension between external functionality and inner rupture. Outwardly, she remains controlled and adapted enough to survive, while inwardly she remains awake and critical, but this dual attitude costs her increasing strength and leads to moments of emotional isolation.

Her relationship with Ruma is central to this. While Ruma slips more and more into conformity, Nadaiya holds on to the idea that there must be a way out. She takes on responsibility, even when this responsibility overwhelms her. There is no open conflict between the two, but rather a silent shift in closeness, trust and perception.

Nadaiya thus embodies the attempt to survive in a system without completely dissolving into it and the painful process in which this attempt increasingly reaches its limits.
