We are looking for a versatile event technician with specialist knowledge in the field of lighting, video and sound technology and a great sense of practicality in everyday theater life.

Contractual relationship

The collective agreement regulations of the public service (TVÖD-kommunal) apply to the employment relationship. Remuneration is paid in accordance with the requirements of the TVÖD pay group, taking into account existing qualifications and professional experience, plus a theater operating allowance for stage employees, also based on TVÖD. The weekly working time is 39 hours.

Theatre and surroundings

The Landestheater Schwaben, in the center of Memmingen, sees itself as a theater for the entire region of Swabia. With its 15-member ensemble and around 50 other employees as well as numerous artistic guests, 18 in-house productions with around 200 performances are created each season on the 4 stages of the Landestheater and Jungem Landestheater, as well as at over 40 regularly staged guest venues in Swabia and other venues in Germany and abroad.
The Landestheater buildings are located in close proximity to each other in the middle of Memmingen's picturesque old town, have contemporary venues and rehearsal stages as well as their own set and costume workshops and guest apartments. 
The independent town of Memmingen is located in the beautiful Allgäu countryside with a wide range of recreational and leisure opportunities and very good transport links (Munich/Zurich railroad lines, A7/A96 freeway junction).

The working environment

is characterized by artistic and technical creativity and professionalism. In addition to the company's own stages at its headquarters, the company's branch operations offer intensive contact with the diverse venues where the Landestheater presents its productions. Due to the necessary adaptation of the productions to the stage spaces and technical facilities of the guest theatres, your varied work includes the wide variety of relevant technology and the entire transport logistics of theater operations.

Task

You will accompany the creative development process of new productions, provide the technical equipment, be responsible for the safe assembly and dismantling of stage sets and technology and take care of the provision of props. You create and maintain the play documentation and accompany the productions on their trips to schools, kindergartens and also to larger stages. You will take on transport services or coordinate transportation and set-up and dismantling as part of a team for larger trips.

During the performances, you will operate the necessary control technology as a stage manager and ensure that the production runs smoothly as a stage manager.

The Children's and Youth Theatre is spatially independent of the main building. You will be responsible for everyday caretaking tasks in the building yourself or coordinate any tasks that arise with the building services department of the main building.

Requirements

We are looking for a committed personality with completed training as an event technician and initial experience at the theater.

We expect knowledge of programming digital lighting controls, simple sound and video technology, manual skills as well as communication and cooperation skills, professional and goal-oriented action, high reliability and an independent way of working.

We require a willingness to work normal theater hours (especially evenings, Sundays and public holidays) as well as the health suitability for heavy lifting and carrying and a class B driver's license.
