Job description

The Theater Hagen is the leading cultural institution in the city of Hagen and the region between the Ruhr and Sauerland with its musical theater, ballet, drama, concert and children's and youth theater divisions. We are looking for from the 2026/2027 season a ballet master / choreographic assistant (m/f/d).

From the 2025/26 season, Taulant Shehu is ballet director of Ballett Hagen and is continuously building up a repertoire for the company (currently 13 positions) with internationally active choreographers.

Your tasks

You are responsible for planning, organizing and carrying out the daily company training; classical and contemporary dance techniques.

In close collaboration with the ballet director and guest choreographers, they assist with rehearsals, lead rehearsals, recasts and ensure that the ballet's productions maintain a consistently high artistic and technical standard.

They are responsible for internal communication with the trades and the organizational processes for stage rehearsals.

Your profile 

- At least three years of experience in this position at municipal theaters

- Good knowledge of German

- Very good knowledge of English

- High motivation and great commitment

- Communication skills, social skills and a strong ability to work in a team

- Willingness to work normal theater hours
