“SPITEFUL LITTLE CREATURES” is a student film project from Bauhaus University Weimar, offering a chance to collaborate on a striking short film. Ideal for adding a visually unique piece to your showreel.

Shoot Dates: August 27–31, 2025.
Location: Bad Liebenstein/Eisenach area in Thuringia (transport, accommodation, and food provided).
Logline:
A compassionate deity, Ban, watches over their little garden of heaven - a place of eternal reunion, where souls linger in blissful attachment. But when a wandering Bodhisattva named Bot comes, swearing to assist all souls in reaching enlightenment, Ban’s paradise grows empty, forcing her to confront her own ideals on desire, existence, and the illusion of permanence.
Synopsis:
An old tinker recalls his travels with a wandering Bodhisattva named Bot. They end up at the gates of a small heavenly garden built by the young deity Ban. After the arrival of the Bodhisattva, the residents started seeking advice and wisdom, and were encouraged to free their souls of their ideals about this place and strive for enlightenment, rather than stagnate here. Over time, every single soul left this heaven and Ban found herself alone with the Bhoddisatva. She created a place of eternal peace; What was so wrong with that? Despite Bot’s attempts to convince her to let go of all her attachments, they reach an impasse. And on top of that, Bot now finds herself unwilling to let go of her own weakness towards this spiteful little deity.

We are seeking 4 main actors for the following characters:
BAN (18-30, female/diverse) – A compassionate yet possessive deity who built a heaven for eternal reunion. She clings fiercely to her attachments, unable to let go. (Emotionally complex role; must convey warmth, sorrow, and defiance.)
NOUR (18-30, any gender) – Ban’s loyal priest/priestess and one of the two main narrators. Observant, careful, and deeply devoted. (Narration-heavy role; requires strong English fluency and expressive delivery.)
BOT (18-30, female/diverse) – A serene yet determined Bodhisattva sworn to guide souls toward enlightenment. Wise, patient, but secretly weak for Ban. (Must balance calm wisdom with subtle emotional conflict.)
TIK (50+, male) – A retired general grieving his late wife. Despite his sorrow, he brings humor and warmth to others. (Narration-heavy; requires a seasoned performer with strong emotional range and comedic timing.)
The film blends poetic dialogue with live, fourth-wall-breaking narration (similar to Wes Anderson’s “The Wonderful Story of Henry Sugar” for reference).Nour and Tik serve as the story’s main narrators. Their lines alternate between immersive performance and direct audience address, with a tone that’s wry, rhythmic, and slightly theatrical.
Ban and Bot have more classical deliveries, but their interactions carry a mythic, dreamlike weight, with various levels of restrained emotion mixed with bursts of vulnerability.
